Job Description
The Morotti and Grandi Labs at the Department of Pharmacology, University of California Davis, seek two Postdoctoral Scholars to develop computational multi-scale models of cardiac and vascular smooth signaling and electrophysiology. The labs utilize computational approaches and theory to study molecular, cellular, and tissue-level mechanisms that mediate cardiovascular responses to stress and to identify targeted pharmacological approaches to arrhythmia and
cardiovascular dysfunction. The Postdoctoral Scholars will perform research on NIH-funded research projects aimed at developing physiologically-detailed descriptions of heterocellular cardiac and vascular tissue.
Job Requirements
Candidates must hold a PhD in bioengineering, applied math, physics, biophysics, or closely related fields by the start date and lead-author publication(s) in computational biology. Candidates must also have strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team. Prior experience in cardiac modeling and MATLAB/C++ programming is preferred. Some experience with experimental cell electrophysiology is a plus.
